This policy explains what personal data JAIN AND ASSOCIATES ("FinWiseOwl", "we", "us") collects when you use finwiseowl.com or engage us for a service, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it.
What you give us. When you write to us, book a call, or engage us for a service, we receive your name, email address and phone number, and — for an engagement — the financial and identity information needed to do the work: PAN, Aadhaar, salary or income details, bank statements, deeds and similar documents.
What is collected automatically. When you browse the site, Google Analytics records the pages you view, roughly how long you stay, the device and browser you use, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used — clicks, scrolling and mouse movement — as heatmaps and anonymised session replays. What you type into forms and calculators is masked and not recorded. Both are used in aggregate to understand which pages are useful and where they confuse people. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from either.
Your client dashboard. If you are a client with a login, we record when you log in and open your dashboard, which sections you view and what you tap (for example, a month in the calendar or a step you mark done), and how long the page is on screen. We use this to see whether the dashboard is useful and to follow up on steps. It is stored in our own dashboard database, only our team can see it, and no analytics or session-recording tools run on the dashboard. What you type in messages is sent to us as a message and is not part of this record.
What we do not collect. We do not collect card or bank credentials. Payments are made directly by UPI or bank transfer, and we never ask for a PIN, OTP or password.
To answer your enquiry and hold the call you booked; to deliver a service you have engaged us for, including drafting documents and filing returns; to raise and settle invoices; to meet obligations under tax and company law; and to understand, in aggregate, which pages of the site are worth keeping.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, given when you contact us, book a call, engage us, or accept analytics cookies on this site. You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to finwise.owl@gmail.com. Withdrawing it does not affect anything lawfully done before, and where the law requires us to keep a record — tax filings, for instance — we will keep only what the law requires.
This site uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, which set cookies on your device to distinguish one visit from another. We do not run advertising or remarketing on this site. You can refuse or delete these cookies through your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, without losing access to anything on the site. Microsoft explains how Clarity handles data in its privacy statement.
Each of these has its own privacy policy governing what it does with the data it receives. We share nothing beyond what the purpose requires, and we do not pass your details to any other party.
Enquiry correspondence is kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period after. Engagement records — deeds, agreements, returns and the documents supporting them — are kept for as long as tax law requires them to be available for scrutiny, and then erased. Analytics data is retained on Google's default schedule.
Your documents are held in access-controlled accounts and shared only over links restricted to the people working on your engagement. We are a small practice; the number of people who can see your file is small by design.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:
To exercise any of these, write to finwise.owl@gmail.com with enough detail for us to find your records. We will respond within a reasonable period.
Our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or lawful guardian. Where a minor is a beneficiary of a structure we help set up, we deal only with the parent or guardian.
If this policy changes, the revised version will appear on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be communicated to clients directly.
